Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actor and TV host. Her name is well-known throughout the world but especially in America. Sedgwick's interest in the arts, Broadway and acting began when she was 12 years young. Her introduction to Broadway by her mother, she was interested in it. Sedgwick had her first acting experience at the age of 16, when she appeared in "Another World," an upcoming TV show. The first TV roles she had were not big, however Sedgwick was interested in becoming a famous actress. The first movie she appeared in was "Born on the 4th of July. The film featured her alongside Tom Cruise in this supporting role. Sedgwick was offered more film roles due to the success of the film, which included: "Singles", "Heart and Souls", and "Phenomenon". A television film titled "Lemon Sky" Sedgwick got to know Kevin Bacon, an actor. They were married when she was just 22. Sedgwick established herself on American television with her impressive acting. The Closer, which lasted seven seasons, won many awards including The Golden Globe and Emmy.
